Domain Buyer Broker Service
My domain buyer broker service is a leader
in the domain broker space and just one of the domain
registrant services I provide. Let me contact
the current owner of your target domain and negotiate on
your behalf in order to acquire it for
you.
I have helped individuals, small businesses,
investors and corporations acquire the domain names they
need for development, marketing, investment and
strategic business reasons.
I have brokering domains for many years, have
extensive knowledge of this industry and a large
network of contacts. In many cases I have known the owner
of the target domain enabling me to negotiate a
favorable deal for my client.
If you are looking for a broker to SELL your
domain names, read about my Domain Broker For Hire
service.
How it
works
I will need to know about your reasons for
acquisition and history with the target domain's current
owner so we can discuss the strategy, budget and
urgency of acquisition. I then research the following
characteristics of the target domain:
-
Current and past use
-
Current and past registrants
-
Search engine placement
-
Pay per click rates of related
keywords
-
Keyword popularity
-
Industry analysis
-
Estimated valuation of target
domain
-
Availability of complementary domain
names
-
Likelihood of acquisition and many other
factors as seen in my Domain Name
Valuation process
Next, if I feel I can acquire the target domain
within your budget, we then sign a short contract
outlining the terms of my buyer broker service, your
obligations and maximum purchase price. I then plan my
negotiation strategy based on our discussion, my
research, current use of the domain and
knowledge of the registrant and state of the domain
market.
I then contact the current registrant and begin
the negotiation process. In many cases I either know
the registrant or can network my way in to the registrant
sometimes even when the whois information is
privacy protected.
There are no fees due unless I can purchase the
target domain name for you. My commission is HALF
the difference between the actual purchase price and the
maximum purchase price agreed to in the contract. For
example, if the client wants to pay no more than $5000
for a target domain and I can broker a deal to buy it for
$2000, then the client pays the $2000 actual purchase
price plus HALF the difference of the $3000
spread. In this scenario, the client agreed to pay a
maximum of $5000 but only has to pay $3500 ($2000
purchase price plus 50% of $3000 difference which is
$1500).
I use this commission pricing structure
instead of a fixed commission structure because a fixed
commission pays higher as the purchase price
increases. Therefore a fixed commission
structure could lead to a conflict of interest where the
client may question the broker's motivation to keep the
purchase price low.
This is a win/win/win business deal and it
doesn't get any better than that! The registrant has a
sale, the buyer has acquires the target domain for less
than maximum budget and the broker gets
paid.
Note: A minimum commission of 10% is required.
From the example above, if I have to pay $5000,
the client will have to pay $5500.
Domain "Picker"
Service
A picker is someone who seeks out opportunities
for a buyer with specific interests. When a client has an
ongoing "wish list" of domains featuring certain keywords or
other criteria like traffic/revenue domains, generic
domains, geodomains or niche domains like gambling, adult, LLL
or NNN domains, I will pro-actively seek out opportunities for
my client.
Domain Drop Auction
Service
As a client, you would give me a drop list
that you wish to acquire along with your maximum bids. I then
submit bids on your behalf. monitor the results and verify
domain acquisitions at new registrars when applicable. I will
give you detailed reports regarding the user names of other
bidders, all bids submitted per name, max bid, payment
verification, new registrar information and eligible transfer
date.
Let me do all the grunt work of bidding on
dropping domains and verifying registration at the numerous
registrars that drop auction companies use. When I can push a
domain to a client at the new registrar I will, otherwise I
will change ownership information and nameservers as requested.
The client can then manage the domain and transfer out after
the ICANN sixty day hold period.
